The trainer
The course is taught by the experienced casting master Thomas Frank, who has an impressive background in saunagus. He debuted as a saunagus master in 2017, and since then he has achieved great recognition:
- Silver in classic saunagus at the 2019 DM and bronze in 2022
- Lecturer at the Aqua Academy for the Danish Swimming Pool Technical Association
- Volunteer lifeguard in three winter swimming clubs in Copenhagen
- Have made saunas in all types of saunas - from mobile and tent saunas to large spa saunas
- Member of the Danish Sauna Society
- Owner of the webshop www.gusmester.dk with sales of sauna equipment and essential oils

Casting Master Course FAQ
No, the course is for both beginners and advanced students. We cover everything from basic theory to advanced techniques, so everyone can benefit from the course.
You'll learn how to safely and professionally host a sauna shower, including the use of essential oils, towel techniques and how to create a unique shower experience. After the course, you will receive a certificate as proof of your new knowledge.
Yes! The certificate documents your skills and can be an advantage if you want to work as a shower master in wellness centres, swimming pools or saunas.
You need to bring two towels, swimwear, flip-flops, street clothes (shorts and t-shirt/running shirt), a water bottle and either a smartphone, tablet or notepad.
Yes, if you cancel at least one month before the course starts, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel between 30 and 14 days before the start of the course, 50% of the amount will be refunded. If you cancel later than 14 days before, we cannot refund the course price.
We keep the number of participants to a maximum of 12 to ensure personalised and thorough training.
If we have to cancel the course, you will of course get your full payment back within 8 business days.
You'll have the opportunity to host your own saunagus in a safe environment, with feedback from the instructor and other participants to help you improve your technique.
No need to worry! The course is organised to ensure you have a safe experience. You'll receive guidance along the way and everyone receives constructive feedback.
Yes! You may want to read about saunas, essential oils and thermotherapy. If you have the opportunity, you can also participate in a saunagus as a guest to get a feel for the experience.
No, but since you'll be in a warm environment and moving around with the towel, it's an advantage to be used to heat. Remember to drink plenty of water.
The course is held at Surf Agency in Aarhus in our course room, where we have:
- A training room for theory and dry training of towel techniques
- Two barrel saunas for practical saunagus training
- Changing facilities
- Bathing facilities
