Meet your casting master: Thomas
Now you can meet some of the many surf and sauna enthusiasts who have their (wave) time here at Surf Agency. In this edition, the baton has been passed on to our fiery hot shower master Thomas.
How did you get started with saunagus, Thomas?
- I started winter bathing a few years ago and quickly became fascinated by the contrast between cold and warmth. Saunagus became a natural extension of that - the best way to combine wellness and community.Β
My first experience with saunagus was surprisingly tough, but the sauna master was great at getting me to relax and focus on my breathing and the music.Β
Why did you choose to become a casting master?
- I wanted to pass that experience on. Being able to create something that both challenges the body and calms the mind is very appealing to me.
What do you want your guests to take with them after a saunagus with you?
- The best gus for me is when the heat builds up well and the oils are dosed perfectly - so you feel the intensity without being overstimulated.Β
You can really geek out on the different oils and their effects - and while it can be challenging, that's what makes it fun.Β
I emphasise that the guests get a feeling of being fully present in the moment and I hope they leave with a sense of calm and joy. It's a great feeling when people say afterwards that it was great.
What is your best experience as a casting master?
- My best experience was doing gus after a SUP POLO event. Combining something physically hard with recovery afterwards makes so much sense.
What has surprised me the most, especially at Surf Agency, is how relaxed both the staff and the guests are. It really feels like a place where you can unwind in the middle of an otherwise busy day in the city.
