WHAT WE DO

The idea for Surf Agency was born in the Caribbean, where we met in the waves off the coast of
Dominican Republic. That was in 2012. Back then we sat under the palm trees on the white
sandy beaches and dreamed of creating a life together. A life that would centre around
our shared passion: surfing.

We love all forms of surfing. In addition to stand up paddle (SUP), Michael is a dedicated
kitesurfer. Finja has a great love for classic wave surfing.

When we discovered that stand up paddle surfing was a virtually unknown water sport in Michael's hometown
Aarhus, our mission was clear: We wanted to bring SUP surfing to Aarhus Bay. We were sure that we would
probably spread the word about stand up paddle and get the people of Aarhus on board. In Finja's
hometown of Hamburg, the sport was booming, so we were sure it would be well received in Aarhus too.

We started with a small surfing office in Trøjborg while running courses and renting SUP boards from a
trailer at Aarhus Marina. Since then, things have gone really fast. In the summer of 2016, we opened our surf oasis on Fiskerivej, and today we offer SUP Club, SUP courses and events, board hire, surf sauna and hot tub in our outdoor wellness area. 

Together with a bunch of local surfing enthusiasts, we have created the life we dreamed of on the beach in
The Caribbean. Today, we live in the centre of a thriving surf culture. In 2020, we opened Surf Cafe at Marselisborg Harbour, which is now run by other good forces, while we focus fully on running and developing our surf and wellness oasis at Aarhus Marina.
