Saunagus combines hot vapours, aromatherapy 🌸 and relaxation 😌 to give both body and mind an invigorating experience. Essential oils are poured onto the hot sauna stones and the vapours are distributed to intensify the heat 🔥 creating a deep relaxing effect.

What is Saunagus?
Saunagus is a growing wellness trend in Denmark where participants get an intense and relaxing experience in the sauna. Under the guidance of a gus master, essential oils and water are poured onto the hot sauna stones, raising the temperature and creating a deep, soothing experience. The shower master uses a towel or fan to disperse the heat and aromas for an intense experience for all participants. A saunagus session typically consists of three rounds, with breaks to cool the body in cold water.
Saunas are said to help relax muscles, improve blood circulation and reduce stress. It's a perfect opportunity to unwind from a busy day and find peace of mind and body.
How does Saunagus work at Surf Agency?

How Should You Breathe During Saunas?
During the saunagus session, the heat rises quickly and it can be challenging for the body to adjust. By focusing on deep, calm breathing, you can help calm your body and get the most out of the experience. The shower master will be on hand to guide you through the breathing so you get the most out of your sauna shower. If you feel the heat is getting too intense, it's always possible to leave the sauna and cool down with a cold dip.
Essential Oils in Saunagus
Essential oils play a big part in the saunagus experience. When mixed with water and poured onto the hot sauna stones, they release scents and vapours that affect the senses and create a deep, relaxing feeling. At Surf Agency, we use a range of natural essential oils such as orange, lavender and cedarwood to create a balanced and refreshing experience. We also use menthol crystals for a fresh and cleansing sensation.
Essential oils not only have a scent effect, but some of them also have skin conditioning properties and can help open up the airways. They help create an extra dimension to the saunagus experience and provide an increased sense of well-being.
What does a Casting Master do?
A shower master is the person who leads the saunagus session. He or she makes sure the sauna is ready and chooses which essential oils to use. The shower master pours the oils onto the hot sauna stones and spreads the heat using a towel or fan. Throughout the session, the shower master will guide the participants and ensure that everyone feels safe and comfortable. The shower master can also give advice on how to breathe to get the most out of the sauna shower.
