Sauna in the summer? Yes, of course. Here are the benefits

Sauna isn't just a winter activity. On the contrary, summer can be the perfect time to prioritise well-being, community, and good habits. And at Surf Agency, you can also enjoy a lovely, cold dip in the cold water tub.

At the surf and wellness company Surf Agency at Aarhus Marina, sauna brewing is a regular part of the wellness repertoire, and the saunas have also been fired up throughout the summer.Β

– Many are surprised at how well sauna brewing works in the summer. For us, it’s not just about getting warm. It’s about well-being, presence, and creating a space to escape in everyday life. Whether you come straight from the water or just want a break during your holiday, sauna brewing still provides a very special experience, says Finja GΓΆtz, co-founder of Surf Agency.

There are good opportunities to have a cold thrill in the wellness area, so you can cool down after both the sauna and the summer heat.Β

Just outside the sauna, guests will find a cold plunge pool with space for several people, where steaming bodies can be cooled down.Β

There is also a tipping bucket with cold water, and outdoor showers with both hot and cold water.Β

Keep up the good habits, even in the summer

When everyday life is put on pause, and the pace slows down, many people have more time to prioritise themselves. Therefore, summer is an obvious time to continue a good wellness routine or start a new one.

The documented health benefits of saunas do not change just because the calendar says summer. Regular sauna use remains associated with, among other things, increased well-being, relaxation, and recovery. You can read more about the benefits in Our article on the health effects of the sauna.

The perfect end to a day by the water

In the summer, more people spend time at the seaside and with their surfboards. Many choose to combine a trip on the water with a sauna session afterwards for the full wellness experience.

At Surf Agency, the experience can be concluded with a dip in the cold water tub, providing a refreshing contrast to the heat of the sauna.

Sauna experience with space for both relaxation and energy

Summer also makes room to try something new. At Surf Agency, the surf instructors are constantly experimenting with different formats.

– We had a guest who asked if we could create something reminiscent of a clubbing experience. So we thought: Why not? That turned into our Friday Groove Gus, which is a fantastic way to start the weekend, says Finja.

At the same time, there is still room for classic and meditative sauna experiences, where silence and immersion are at the centre.

– There are many different views on what feels good. It's a matter of personal taste, and we want to be able to accommodate it all, says Finja.Β

The community is an important part of the experience

One of the special things about sauna aufguss is the community. Finja, for instance, remembers an elderly man who participated in a festive Groove Gus.

He was a bit sceptical at first, but after a few rounds he thought it was really great because he became part of the group's experience. It shows how much community means, says Finja.Β

Whether you prefer calm or energetic sessions, you can still enjoy saunagus all summer long with Surf Agency. Keep an eye on the calendar for current times and summer events.
