SUP (Stand Up Paddle) is an exciting opportunity for students at Schools and institutions! It's more than just a water sport - it's an opportunity to Explore, learn and have fun together. It is an activity that promotes co-operation, strengthens trust and create unforgettable less.
Our experienced instructors make sure everyone feels comfortable safe and have a great experience, whether they are experienced SUP athletes or beginners. Students will be challenged with different games, Ball games, relays and balance exercisesthat not only strengthens their physical skills, but also promotes co-operation and fun.

How a SUP school event works
Welcome and equipment
When schools and institutions arrive for their event at Surf Agency, they will be greeted with a handover of wetsuits and all necessary equipment (we have suits in ALL sizes). There will also be access to our changing facilities so you can change clothes and get ready for the activities.
Introduction to SUP
Before we hit the water, you'll get a brief introduction to Stand Up Paddle, covering technique, equipment and safety precautions.
On the water
Surf Agency is ideally located at Aarhus Marina, making it a perfect start for schools and institutions, especially for those who are new to Stand Up Paddle. We begin by exploring the calm waters where you can find your balance and learn to navigate your SUP board. When you're ready, we'll paddle out into Aarhus Bay, close to the shore, where we'll perform a variety of fun activities and challenges.
Our experienced instructors will customise the event to your level and wishes. Here are some examples of the activities you can expect:
- SUP buddy exercises: Exercises that promote communication and trust, including blind navigation.
- SUP ball games: Fun team sports activities that promote presence, co-operation and team awareness.
- XXL Mega SUP board: Strengthen your teamwork and strategy on large 6-8 person boards.
- SUP Relay: Competitions that boost team spirit, strategy and team bonding.
- Blue Mind / SUP Yoga: Unplug and cultivate mindfulness and mental health on the water.
These activities are designed to create fun and cohesion among students or institution members while developing skills in teamwork, communication and strategy.
Extra experiences (Optional extras)
After a fun day on the water, you can extend the great surfing atmosphere with relaxing cosiness in our outdoor wellness area. Take a well-deserved break and enjoy the warmth and cosiness of our sauna and hot tubs. Here you can continue the discussion about which team had the best strategy during the SUP relays or who scored the best goal in SUP Polo. It's the perfect way to end the day with relaxation, laughter and great memories.

7 reasons to book a SUP event with Surf Agency
Give your students a fun day on the water with their classmates! We guarantee that students will have plenty to talk about when they return to their institution/school class. Our guests always come back from their experience filled with excitement and positive energy. "This was amazing!" is a comment we often hear. Many of our guests are repeat customers who book events for their team several times a year.
SUP (Stand Up Paddle) is accessible to everyone - regardless of size, experience and skill level. With the right technique, anyone can stand on a SUP board, and our instructors customise the activities to suit all participants. It's not about being the best or the bravest, it's about individual development, teamwork and having fun together.
Our booking procedure is flexible and takes into account that it can be challenging to predict the number of participants for an event in the future. When you book with Surf Agency, you specify the maximum number of participants, which ensures good planning and sufficient equipment and instructors. When booking, a deposit of 50% of the full amount is paid. You have the option to adjust the number of participants up to 10 days before the event. Just send us the final number of participants no later than 10 days before the event and the balance will be adjusted and paid. This way you don't need to know the final number of participants until 10 days before the event. However, it is important to note that no refunds will be given if the number of participants is downgraded later than 10 days before the event.

Our instructors are all certified and trained under the Danish Sailing Union and the Danish Surf & Rafting Association / ISA, which guarantees both quality and safety on the water. At our events, all participants wear approved life jackets and season-appropriate neoprene equipment, ensuring the highest level of safety. All activities take place near shallow water and beach, so everyone can feel safe and enjoy the experience.

Changing and shower facilities
We provide changing facilities for school classes, so you can change indoors or in our surf garage - it's more comfortable than doing it in a car park 🙂 There are mirrors, hair dryers and of course toilets available.
Indoors we have 2+1 showers and outdoors there are 4 showers with both hot and cold water.
If some students prefer private changing or showering, we can organise individual changing rooms or showers for them.
What about the weather?
There's no such thing as bad weather - only bad clothing 😉 We have warm wetsuits, boots, hats, mittens and more, so you can keep warm! It doesn't matter if it rains - we jump in the water and get wet anyway. We know this area really well and know where to seek shelter in the wind. Of course, we keep an eye on the weather and if we think it's too dangerous to go on the water (lightning, thunder and stormy weather) we'll talk to you in the days leading up to the event and discuss the possibilities. If vi cancelled due to weather, we try to move the event to another day or come up with some alternative options.
Can it really be true that SUP is for everyone?
Many people mistakenly think that they can't balance on a SUP board or perhaps aren't sporty enough to participate. With our 13 years of experience in SUP team building, we've had thousands of guests on a SUP board over the years. Our goal is always to ensure that all participants have a positive experience and we have yet to have a disappointed customer.
It's not about being the best or fastest, it's about developing individually and as a team and having fun. The activities take place near shallow water and the beach, so everyone can feel safe.

Our instructors have all received certification and training from the Danish Sailing Union and the Danish Surf & Rafting Association / ISA. This not only guarantees the quality of our events, but also a high standard of safety on the water.
Questions we often get
In general
We have changing facilities - both indoors and in our surfer garage, so you don't have to change in a car park 🙂 There are mirrors, hair dryers, and of course toilets available.
We have 2+1 showers indoors and 4 outdoor showers with both hot and cold water.
Yes, we can lock up smaller valuables and larger items can be stored in our office. Storage is at your own risk.
There is free 3-hour parking all along Fiskerivej. There is also paid parking within walking distance at Navitas and DOKK1 to Surf Agency - and the light rail also runs right past.
Bring your own swimwear and towels - we'll take care of the rest 🙂
SUP
You need to bring your own swimwear (to wear under your wetsuit) and a towel if you want to shower afterwards.
Yes - you have to. Wetsuit (and other neoprene gear is included in the price). On hot days, you can keep your wetsuit open and possibly down around your waist - but everyone wears a wetsuit and life jacket.
Right. We stay close to shore, wear wetsuits, lifejackets and safety leashes, but the water is deep and can be cold.
You can do it - if you're unsure you can stay on your knees and it's always ok to skip some exercises. We can show you another way to get on the board that is more optimal when you're pregnant. It's up to the pregnant woman how much she wants to participate - please give us a call and let's talk about it if you have any concerns.
In the vast majority of cases, you can easily participate in stand up paddle - and you are always welcome to skip some exercises or take it easy. Always let your instructor know if there is anything that needs attention. If you're very nervous about water or have other issues, it's a good idea to come down before an event to check things out and then it can be an advantage to book a private course - so we can do things on your terms.
SUP is a great activity for children and families. Children can typically paddle their own board from around the age of 8, but some can do it earlier. Smaller children can sit on the board in front of their parents when they are a little older, possibly with their own paddle so they can help out and get a feel for paddling and steering. We recommend that parents have tried SUP before taking children out on their own. We offer family courses where an instructor will be with you to ensure safety and fun and give advice on paddling with children.
If you've previously rented a board from us or attended our 2.5-hour SUP course, you don't need to get our quickie intro - you get two hours of board hire instead. If you've been on a bachelor party, team building or have NOT paddled with us before, you MUST have a quickie intro - so we know that you know about safety and where you can paddle and if you've tried SUP before, we can talk a little bit about technique and we can show you some fun tricks.
Alcohol and water sports are a very bad combination, so we don't allow you to drink before you get on the water - that's why we recommend that Stand Up Paddle events are organised as early in the day as possible. If you arrive drunk, you will not be allowed on the water and you will not be compensated in that situation.
During our Outdoor Wellness you may have had a few drinks beforehand, but we expect our guests to behave properly and follow the instructions of our staff.

Depending on which SUP activity you have booked, there are different programmes.
Regardless of the event type, we start slowly with some information on land about how to steer and paddle, then we get on the water and start briefly practising steering while kneeling - then we get up and do some more control exercises.
For Stand Up Paddle Teambuilding events, Group Events and Bachelor Party events, there will be different games, exercises and challenges - it can be surfing turns, racing, relays, cooperation exercises, ball games (SUP Polo), yoga exercises, fitness exercises and other things - we have a programme that fits the event - but we can adapt it to the group as desired and often along the way.
SUP courses at Surf Agency include a review of paddling technique, what to look out for in terms of safety, wind and weather, equipment and then we do rescue exercises, paddle a good trip and give you some different challenges to work on.
Smaller groups (up to 6 people) can rent boards and head out on their own after a short instruction. For larger groups, we require an instructor with you - this provides better safety and our instructors can help you set different challenges to accommodate any differences in level and make it fun for everyone.
The times given (2 hours for team building, 1.5 hours for stag parties etc) are from arrival until you are back on land. We recommend that you arrive 10 minutes before - and when everyone has arrived, you will be given wetsuits and can change. The time you spend showering and changing after we are back on land is not included.
Booking
When you send us an enquiry for an event at Surf Agency, you select the maximum number of participants - that way we are sure to have enough equipment and instructors. You then have the option to change the number of participants up to 7 days before the event - whereby the balance is also changed and paid. This way you don't need to know the final number of participants until 7 days before the event.
We prefer to pay in advance so we don't have to spend time on the day when we'd rather spend time on the water 🙂
A booking is considered confirmed upon payment of the deposit, so it's also so we can make sure you show up. If EAN payment or payment on the day is important, we will find a solution 🙂
There is no such thing as bad weather - only bad clothing 😉
We organise group events, teambuilding and bachelor party events for a minimum of 4 people and so far we have had 90 people on the water at the same time. We have the opportunity to make different solutions if you are over 40 people.
We have different packages with a good discount built in, so the more you book the better the deal.
When you book group events with Surf Agency, you do not need to know the final number of participants until 7 days before the event. Within 7 days of the event, we can add more participants if we have the capacity to do so. We do not give refunds if there are fewer participants than stated 7 days before the event.
Yes - we can do that. All our instructors are fluent in English, we also have a few instructors who can teach in German and Spanish if needed 🙂
When you pay the deposit, we enter into a binding agreement. It is therefore not possible to get your money back if you later wish to cancel. Together we can find a solution to move the event to a later date if it is not possible for you to hold it at the time booked.
