FAQ
Here we have collected all the questions that our members or visitors often have for us.
Booking
What if we don't know the final number of participants?
When you send us an enquiry for an event at Surf Agency, you select the maximum number of participants - that way we are sure to have enough equipment and instructors. You then have the option to change the number of participants up to 7 days before the event - whereby the balance is also changed and paid. This way you don't need to know the final number of participants until 7 days before the event.
Can we pay on the day?
We prefer to pay in advance so we don't have to spend time on the day when we'd rather spend time on the water πΒ
A booking is considered confirmed upon payment of the deposit, so it's also so we can make sure you show up. If EAN payment or payment on the day is important, we will find a solution π
What if the weather is bad? Can we paddle?
There is no such thing as bad weather - only bad clothing π
We have warm wetsuits, boots, hats, mittens and more, so you can keep warm! It doesn't matter if it rains - we'll jump in the water and get wet anyway. We know this area really well and we know where to seek shelter in the wind. Of course, we keep an eye on the weather, and if we think it's too dangerous to go on the water (lightning, thunder and stormy weather) we'll talk to you in the days leading up to the event and discuss the possibilities. If vi cancelled due to weather, we will try to move the event to another day or come up with alternative options. If this is not possible, we will refund your money.
What is the maximum/minimum number of people you can have?
We make group events, teambuilding and bachelorette party events for a minimum of 4 people, and so far we have had up to 90 people on the water at the same time. We can create different solutions if you have more than 40 people.Β
Can I get a discount?
We have different packages with a good discount built in, so the more you book, the better the deal.
Can you change the number of participants?
When you book events for groups At Surf Agency, you do not need to know the final number of participants until 7 days before the event. Within 7 days before the event, we can add more participants if we have the capacity to do so. We do not give refunds if you have fewer participants than stated 7 days before the event.
Can we organise the event in English?
Yes - we can do that. All our instructors are fluent in English, we also have a few instructors who can teach in German and Spanish if needed π
What if we want to cancel?
When you pay the deposit, we enter into a binding agreement. It is therefore not possible to get your money back if you later wish to cancel. We can find a solution together to move the event to a later date if it is not possible for you to hold the event at the booked time.

Isn't it too cold in winter?
The experience of sitting in 38-39 degree water under the open sky only gets better the colder and "worse" the weather is. We like to say: "The worse the weather - the better the experience." The cold makes it Warm wilderness hot tub and sauna experience even more special. You may want to bring bathing shoes, a hat and a bathrobe, which can be nice to have when it's very cold outside.
Is winter swimming possible at your location?
Yes, it is... In our lovely cold water barrel. The water in the tub is filtered with a sand filter pump system and disinfected with active oxygen. We also have access to the water right by the Surf Agency, but as it is a harbour basin, bathing is not recommended.
Is anyone else coming to Outdoor Wellness?
You won't be sharing the hot tub or sauna with anyone else - but there will probably be others on our site. Likewise, the cold water tub can be shared with others. We have a pump system that cleans the water.Β
I want both a sauna and hot tub - but there are only 4 of us, what do we do?
In order to make ends meet, we have to charge a minimum of 6 people for both sauna and hot tub. Call us and let's have a chat About it.
How often is the water changed in your hot tubs?
The bathing water is changed daily with water of drinking water quality. There is a maximum of 4 groups per tub in one day and the tubs are only used for one day - regardless of the number of guests - after which the water is emptied.
We are authorised as a public swimming pool by the municipality, which means that we are subject to the same conditions for bathing water quality as when you go swimming.
The bathing water is disinfected with active oxygen disinfectant.
We use large sand filter pumps with active filter glass that filter the water efficiently with a water circulation of 15m3/hour.
We continuously take water samples and adjust the PH before and after each shift.
Eurofins Denmark visits once a month to take samples of the bathing water in all the pools. The laboratory analyses are then sent to the municipality.Β
How many people can we have for Outdoor Wellness?
We can accommodate around 22 guests in the hot tubs and sauna at the same time. Contact usIf there are more of you, we may be able to add a sauna or shower to the area.
Can we drink beer in the hot tub?
Yes, that's part of the concept. Enjoy a delicious cold draft beer from our neighbouring brewery HumlelandΒ On Hantwerk.
Can we bring our own drinks?Β
It is not allowed to bring beverages to an outdoor wellness event. We have a good co-operation with Craftsmanshipwhich we also share an outdoor area with. Here you can get great prices on jugs of freshly brewed draft beer, wine, soft drinks and bubbles.
Do I need to order drinks in advance?
No - we'll just do that on the day. We'll walk with you to Craftsmanshipwhere you can leave a credit card at the bar and get beer/wine/bubbles back - our staff can then help you get more if you wish.

SUP
Do you need to bring anything with you?
You need to bring your own swimwear (to wear under your wetsuit) and a towel if you want to shower afterwards.
Do you have to wear a wetsuit when SUPing?
Yes - you have to. Wetsuit (and other neoprene gear included in the price)
On hot days, you can keep your wetsuit open and possibly around your waist - but everyone wears a wetsuit and life jacket.
Do you need to be able to swim?
Right. We stay close to shore, wear wetsuits, lifejackets and safety leashes on the board, but the water is deep and can be cold.
Can you join if you are pregnant?
You can - if you're unsure, you can stay on your knees and it's always ok to skip some exercises. We can show you another way to get on the board that is more optimal when you're pregnant. It's up to the pregnant woman how much she wants to participate. finally call and let's talk about it if there are any concerns.Β
What if you have a bad knee/shoulder/back, are afraid of water or have poor balance?
In the vast majority of cases, you can easily participate in stand up paddle - and you're always welcome to skip some exercises or take it easy. Always let your instructor know if there is anything that needs attention. If you're very nervous about water or have other concerns, it might be a good idea to come down before an event to check things out, and then it can be beneficial to book a private course - so we can do things on your terms.Β
Can you bring children - how old do children have to be?
SUP is a great activity for kids and families. Children can typically paddle their own board from around the age of 8, but some will be able to paddle earlier. Smaller children can sit on the board in front of their parents. When they are a little older, they can have their own paddle so they can help out a little and get the feel of paddling and steering. We recommend that parents have tried SUP before taking children out on their own. We offer family courses where an instructor will be with you, ensuring safety and fun, and giving advice on paddling with children.
Do you need an intro to board handling if you've tried Stand Up Paddle before?
If you've previously rented a board from us or attended our 2.5 hour SUP course, you don't need to get our quickie intro - you get two hours of board hire instead. Have you been on bachelorette party, teambuilding If you haven't paddled with us before, you MUST have a quickie intro - so we know you're on top of safety and where you can paddle. And if you've tried SUP before, we can talk a little bit about technique and show you some fun tricks.
What is your alcohol policy?
Alcohol and water sports are a very bad combination, so we don't allow you to drink before you get on the water - which is why we recommend that Stand Up Paddle events are organised as early in the day as possible in connection with a stag party, for example. If you arrive drunk, you will not be allowed on the water and there is no compensation in that situation.Β
In connection with our Outdoor wellness you may have had a few drinks beforehand, but we expect our guests to behave properly and follow our staff's instructions.Β
What do you do?
Depending on which SUP activity you have booked, there are different programmes.Β
Regardless of the type of event, we start quietly with some information on land about how to steer and paddle. Then we take to the water and start by briefly practising steering while kneeling - after which we stand up and do some more control exercises.Β
For Stand Up Paddle Teambuilding Events, Group Events and Honeymoon Events there will be different games, exercises and challenges - it can be surfer turns, racing, relays, cooperation exercises, ball games (SUP Polo), yoga exercises, fitness exercises and other things - we have a programme that fits the event - but we can adapt it to the group as desired and often along the way.Β
SUP courses at Surf Agency include a review of paddling technique, what to look out for in terms of safety, wind and weather, equipment, and then we do rescue exercises, paddle a good trip, and give you some different challenges to work on.Β
Can't we just go out on the water ourselves?
Smaller groups (up to 6 people) can rent boards and head out on their own after a short instruction. For larger groups, we require an instructor to be with you - this provides better safety and our instructors can help you set different challenges to accommodate any differences in skill level and make it fun for everyone.
How long does it take?
The specified times (2 hours for teambuilding, 1.5 hours for bachelorette party etc.) is from arrival until you are back on land. We recommend that you arrive 10 min. before - and once everyone has arrived, you will be given wetsuits and can change. The time you spend showering and changing after we are back on land is not included.
SUP Club
Do you have to take an intro course to become a Surf Agency member - even if you have experience with SUP?
Yes, you can.Β
As a member of the Club Surf Agency you have very free rein when it comes to the use of equipment and facilities, so we want to make sure that everyone has the information we deem necessary. That way, we know that there is a minimum level when people attend training sessions and we know that it's safe for you to go on the water on your own. There's also a talk about equipment and technique, so even if you already know SUP, you'll learn something π
Do you need your own wetsuit/board to do SUP at Surf Agency?
You need your own wetsuit. You'll soon realise you want to - to make sure it fits properly and you know how to use it. For the same reason, we recommend having your own neoprene boots and mittens for the cold season.Β
As a member of the Club Surf Agency you have access to all our boards - so you don't need to have your own.
Can you store your board at the club if you have your own?
We have limited space, so basically you can't. The space we have is reserved for raceboards - so if you have one / are considering buying one to participate in competitions etc., come and talk to us - and we'll see if we can find a space.
Can you take a friend out paddling?
Yes - you can. There are two options. Once a month you can bring a friend, free of charge, to Sunday-Funday training (not the same friend every time, and you must have attended at least 3 group training sessions yourself before you can bring a friend).Β
If you want to bring friends or family to SUP at other times, that's also possible - in that case, your friend rents a board from us and you can paddle together. We'll help you get started, but won't take you on the water.Β
